VOLUNTEERING
The Brookside Theatre is run entirely by volunteers with all money raised through our events going to the continued restoration and upkeep of the historical Romford War Memorial buildings that now house Romford's first theatre. With the popularity of the theatre growing, we are always looking for anyone who has a little spare time and who is interested in joining our friendly and dedicated volunteer team. Duties may include ushering, assisting in the kiosk or box office and helping to ensure the smooth running of the theatre. If you enjoy meeting people and would like to work in an interesting environment then come and volunteer with us. Our only prerequisites are that you are friendly, enthusiastic, reliable and committed to help maintain the excellent reputation of our award-winning theatre. We welcome volunteers aged 16+ from all backgrounds. With regards to time we only ask that you commitment to a minimum of one shift every month which is likely to include either a Friday or Saturday evening but of course we would love you to do more. Performances usual start at 8pm (2pm for matinees) and last approximately 2 - 2 1/2 hours. Volunteers are asked to arrive 90 minutes prior to the start of a performance and remain until the end of the show. We are also looking for volunteers to hassist with various administrative / management tasks during the day, please check our OPPORTUNITIES page for other roles.
